This notice explains how personal data is collected and used when you visit this website, request a quote, call the published number, or otherwise deal with Solar Panel Scaffolding.
1. Who we are and who owns this website
This website (https://solarpanelscaffolding.co.uk) and the published site telephone number 01226 899084 are owned and operated by Concourse Marketing Ltd, company number 12480340, registered office 28 Victoria Street, Darfield, Barnsley, S73 9EX (“Concourse Marketing”, “we”, “us”).
Concourse Marketing is a lead-generation business. It builds and owns branded local-service websites. Solar Panel Scaffolding is a licensed marketing brand of Concourse Marketing. The brand name and logo are used under a Brand Licence Agreement. Ownership of the website, domain, branded telephone number, listings and customer list remains with Concourse Marketing. The licence does not transfer those assets.
The licensed local partner appointed to quote and carry out scaffolding works generated through this brand is AM Scaffolding Yorkshire / AM Scaffolding Ltd (“the Partner” or “the trader”). The Partner attends site, quotes, contracts and completes the works in its own legal name. The Partner is the contracting trader for any job. Concourse Marketing is not the contractor, employer, guarantor or seller of the works.
Under UK data protection law this creates two separate controllers for different purposes:
- Concourse Marketing is the controller of personal data collected on this website and on the branded telephone number (enquiries, call recordings, cookies and site analytics).
- The Partner is a separate controller of personal data it receives in order to quote, contract and perform a referred job (and of any further data it collects itself on site or by later contact).
Each organisation is responsible for how it uses the data it controls. The branded site tells you that enquiry data is shared with an appointed local contractor so that they can contact you and quote.
2. Contact details
Website owner / brand owner (site and number data): Concourse Marketing Ltd, 28 Victoria Street, Darfield, Barnsley, S73 9EX. Website: concoursemarketing.com.
Licensed trader (job and works data): AM Scaffolding Yorkshire / AM Scaffolding Ltd, acting under licence of the Solar Panel Scaffolding brand.
To exercise data-protection rights about an enquiry made on this site or a call to 01226 899084, contact Concourse Marketing in the first instance. To exercise rights about a quote, contract, invoice or completed job, contact the Partner. We will redirect you if your request sits with the other controller.
3. What data we collect and why
3.1 Enquiries and quote requests
When you submit a form, email the branded inbox, or otherwise request a quote, we collect the details you provide. That typically includes name, address or job location, telephone number, email address, a description of the work, photographs you attach, and any other information needed to qualify the enquiry.
We use this data to: qualify whether the request is in area and for an appointed service; refer a qualified lead to the Partner; keep a written record of the referral; issue quotes from the branded inbox as an administrative step using figures the Partner supplies; follow up on outstanding quotes where the Partner has authorised that help; deal with complaints; and invoice the Partner for agreed referral fees.
Legal bases: taking steps at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) where you ask for a quote; legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in operating a branded lead service, preventing fraud and spam, and keeping an audit trail; and legal obligation where we must retain records.
3.2 Inbound telephone calls and call recording
This section applies to inbound calls received on the published site number 01226 899084. Calls to that number divert to a number nominated by the Partner. Concourse Marketing retains the tracking number and may log and record calls where lawful.
Calls are recorded so that we can:
- keep an accurate record of what was agreed verbally, including instructions, variations, prices, timescales and other commercial terms;
- download and retain a copy where it is needed as evidence of a verbal agreement;
- deal with queries, complaints and disputes fairly; and
- train staff and monitor service quality where appropriate.
Inbound calls to 01226 899084 are recorded. Recordings are retained for 30 days from the date of the call, then deleted automatically unless a copy has been downloaded and kept for a permitted purpose.
A recording may be kept longer than 30 days where it is required as evidence of a verbal agreement relating to a job, or where it is needed to investigate or defend a complaint, claim or dispute. Downloaded recordings are stored securely, limited to those who need access, and deleted when no longer required for that purpose.
Callers should be aware that the call is being recorded. Notice may be given by an automated message at the start of the call, by a statement on this website or other materials that list 01226 899084, and/or by the person answering. Staff answering this number must be able to confirm, if asked, that calls are recorded, how long recordings are kept, and that a recording may be used as evidence of what was agreed.
Where work, a variation, a price or other terms are agreed by telephone, the recording (or a downloaded copy) may be relied on as evidence of that verbal agreement. Key points should still be confirmed in writing wherever practical. A recording does not replace a written contract where one is required.
If you object to recording, say so at the start of the call. We will explain the purpose briefly and, where possible, offer another channel (for example email). We will not continue a recorded call if you refuse and no alternative can be agreed.
Legal bases: legitimate interests in evidencing commercial conversations, handling complaints and training; and taking steps toward a contract where you telephone to instruct or vary work.
3.3 Jobs, quotes and the Partner’s use of data
Once a qualified enquiry is referred, the Partner uses your details to inspect, quote, contract, invoice and carry out the works in its own legal name. Everything commercial — quotes, revisions, acceptances, job on and job off — is intended to flow through the branded email so both Concourse Marketing and the Partner have a complete record.
The Partner is the trader under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Customer payments never pass through Concourse Marketing. After the appointment ends, lead data must not be used as a marketing list except as needed to finish or guarantee a referred job, or where the law requires retention.
3.4 Google reviews
On a successful converted job, Concourse Marketing may request a Google review for its own branded Google Business Profile. That request is for the brand listing, not as a substitute for a review of the Partner as trader. You do not have to leave a review.
3.5 Website comments
If you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comments form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to see whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval, your profile picture is visible with your comment. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognised.
3.6 Media you upload
If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can download images and extract that data.
3.7 Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies as follows:
- Comment cookies: if you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email and website for one year so you do not have to re-enter them.
- Login test cookie: a temporary cookie on the login page to see whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close the browser.
- Login and display cookies: if you log in, cookies save login information (two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”) and screen-display choices (one year). Logging out removes the login cookies.
- Editor cookie: if you edit or publish an article, a cookie storing the post ID lasts one day and contains no personal data.
Embedded content from other websites (videos, images, articles) behaves as if you had visited that other site. Those sites may set cookies, use tracking and collect data about your interaction, including if you are logged in there.
You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
4. Who we share data with
- The appointed Partner, so they can contact you, quote and perform the work.
- Service providers who host the website, email, telephony, call recording, spam filtering or analytics, acting on our instructions.
- Professional advisers, insurers and claims handlers where needed to deal with a complaint or claim.
- Regulators, courts or the police where the law requires it.
- An automated spam-detection service may check visitor comments.
If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not pass customer money or act as escrow.
5. How long we keep data
- Call recordings: 30 days, unless downloaded for evidence, complaint or dispute handling.
- Enquiry and referral records: for as long as needed to administer the lead, bill referral fees, handle complaints and meet legal retention duties. Typically this is the life of the job plus a period sufficient for guarantee and limitation issues.
- Comments: indefinitely, as set out above.
- Registered user profiles (if any): until the account is deleted, subject to legal retention.
We do not keep recordings or enquiry data longer than needed for the purposes in this notice.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure; restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an export of the personal data we hold about you, and you can request erasure of personal data we hold, except data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
To make a request, contact Concourse Marketing using the details above. We may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
7. Security
Recordings and enquiry data contain personal data and are treated as confidential. Access is restricted to authorised personnel. Recordings must not be shared outside the organisation except where required by law, with your agreement, or where necessary to enforce or defend legal rights in connection with a job. Staff must not circulate recordings informally (for example on personal messaging apps).
8. International transfers
Some processors (for example website or comment platforms) may store data outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on an appropriate safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, as required by UK law.
9. Children
This site is intended for people arranging scaffolding and related works. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
11. Staff handling of the branded number
Anyone answering 01226 899084 should:
- answer professionally and assume the call is being recorded;
- confirm recording, retention and evidential use if asked;
- if a caller objects, explain the purpose and offer an alternative channel where possible;
- summarise important job details before ending the call so the recording captures a clear agreement;
- introduce themselves as calling from the licensed Partner, and explain that the contract for the work is with the Partner, not the brand owner;
- request a download of a recording promptly, and within the 30-day window, if it may be needed as evidence;
- never circulate recordings informally.
This notice should be read with the Brand Licence Agreement between Concourse Marketing Ltd and the Partner, which sets out that Concourse Marketing is a controller of data collected on the branded site and number, and that the Partner is a separate controller of data it receives to quote and perform a referred job.
